Just Car Clinics team members have once again risen to the challenge to help I Love Claimsraise £500,000 for The Rainbow Trust, a charity which offers emotional and practical support for families with a child facing a life-threatening or terminal illness.
Just Car Clinics took part in the Goole to York leg of an Olympic style torch relay organised by I Love Claims, which is currently seeing the torch travelling around the country, from business to business, bringing together the industry in an epic charity fundraising challenge. Just Car Clinics employees drove the torch from its Headquarters in Goole to the next stop of the relay route, Alton Cars in York. Although not a long drive, Purchase Ledger and Credit Control Supervisor, Judy Wardell and Alun Davies, Credit Controller, stepped up to the challenge and donned multi-coloured, comical apparel for the journey.
Judy said: “I think this is the first time I have ever been driven in a car wearing a court jester’s outfit! It certainly wasn’t the most comfortable drive, but I am really glad I got involved and helped raise more money for The Rainbow Trust.”
Alun said: “We did turn a few heads with our clothing, but it was a lot of fun and it’s always good to know that you are helping to support an incredibly worthwhile charity.”
Dawn Swales, HR and Training Manger and fundraising coordinator, said: “Just Car Clinics team members have a great track record of giving their all to raise money for charity and this event is no different. In total we raised an excellent £250 for The Rainbow Trust.”
Chief Executive, Barry Whittles, said: “Congratulations go to Judy and Alun who threw themselves into the day and were brave enough to dress up for the relay! This is a brilliant achievement and we are glad to do our bit to help a charity which provides a vital lifeline for families whose children are affected by a life-threatening illness.” Back |
