BSI Kitemark Program
BSI kitemark is launched today, with 6 JCC sites already accredited and a planned £200k investment.
A body repair kitemark is officially being launched to members of the public today at Triple Focus, an industry event in Berkshire.
The British Standards Institute (BSI) PAS 125:2007 was launched by Thatcham, a research driven organisation funded by British Insurers, which teamed up with BSI to establish a kitemark that would ensure the highest standards of training and motor repair.
Just Car Clinics, the UK’s second largest independent collision repair company, has an investment plan of £200,000 in place to ensure all of its 23 sites achieve the kitemark this year – six of them have already achieved it before the official launch (Hull, Lincoln, Grimsby, Leeds, Durham and Swindon).
Only 326 British repair centres in the country have achieved the kitemark since it was launched in 2007, between them they are repairing nearly 400,000 cars each year.
Barry Whittles, JCC’s chief executive, added: “We already work to a high level across all of our sights in order to satisfy the standards and high quality of work required by our customers. However, the kitemark encourages us to raise our game even higher and I am delighted that six JCC branches have already acquired the Kitemark.”
JCC is aiming to achieve Kitemark PAS 125:2007 at all 23 of its sites by the end of the year.
As part of the Kitemark standard, regular, unannounced BSI audits will ensure that the standards of JCC’s people, repair methods, equipment, materials, quality control checks, processes management and internal audits are maintained.
