25/05/2009 - JCC staff set to jump in the name of Brake

Four members of staff from Just Car Clinics (JCC), the UK’s second largest independent collision repair chain, are going to extreme lengths to embrace the company’s nominated charity of the year.

Dawn Swales, human resources manager at JCC, is so enthusiastic about raising funds for Brake – which supports the families of those involved in road traffic accidents and also runs education and awareness campaigns – that she’s prepared to throw herself out of an aeroplane on Sunday, June 7th!

The enthusiastic member of the Operations team at JCC’s Training and Support Centre, based in Goole, will be joined by JCC general managers John Pattinson, of the Hull branch, and Dave Hornsey, of the Grantham branch, as well as Agnieszka Wawrzynowska who is a receptionist at the Hinckley branch.

The jump itself will take place at an airfield in Brigg, North Lincolnshire, and has been arranged by Brake, which is committed to encouraging people to be more careful and considerate drivers. The fundraising event is just one of many things happening at JCC this year to raise vital funds to help the charity to continue its nationwide work. A recent JCC 5-a-side football tournament in Leeds raised more than £600 for Brake.

Meanwhile, a sponsored fire walk and a charity golf day are also planned for later in the year. Dawn said: “We are really getting behind Brake. This is the first time that JCC has nominated a charity of the year and it’s a cause that sits very closely alongside our industry. I think we’re all slightly nervous about the parachute jump, but it should be a fantastic experience and will certainly be worth it.”

Katie Shephard, fundraising manager at Brake, said: “The work that the team at JCC is doing to raise funds for Brake is fantastic. I would like to wish Dawn and her colleagues the best of luck with the parachute jump and extend our sincere thanks for their continued efforts. This kind of support it essential to Brake and helps us continue to run campaigns to educate and raise awareness of the importance of responsible driving.”
