08/09/2008 - Just Car Clinics acquires Jordan’s accident repair centre to provide offering to commercial market
Just Car Clinics has today announced the acquisition of Jordan’s accident repair centre in Hull, which will enable the group to diversify into commercial work whilst continuing to develop its well-established brand in the private repair market.
Barry Whittles, Chief Executive of JCC –the UK’s second largest independent collision repair chain, which started life in Hull and now has 23 sites across the country – is delighted to be further expanding the flourishing business, which has seen its overall employee numbers grow from 376 to 620 since its inception in 2003.
The new centre, which is ideally based opposite the group’s existing Hull branch on Clarence Street, will continue to offer an excellent service to corporate clients as well as specialising in commercial vehicle repairs under a “Just Van Repair” brand. In addition the centre, will offer high quality preparation of used vehicles for motor vehicle dealerships.
JCC is aiming to build on its reputation for providing excellence in collision repair for private car owners, by extending its offer to the business community both regionally and nationally.
Mr Whittles explained that Jordan’s has taken the decision to sell the facility to JCC after reviewing current changes within the accident repair sector, recognising that bodyshop specialists are better placed to meet the challenges and investment required in the future.
“It is clear that the accident repair centres of tomorrow must be proactive and responsive if they are to meet the required standard and are suitably equipped to continue with the repair of modern vehicle construction and new technology vehicles,” he explained.
“JCC is leading the way in terms of ensuring we meet these standards – the recent achievement of BSI Kitemark PAS 125 at our centres in Hull, Lincoln and Leeds is testament to this and our other centres are also tasked with achieving this by the end of the year.”
The new centre will undergo a six weeks integration plan and once complete will operate alongside the current Hull site under the management of John Pattinson, who has worked for the group since its launch in 2003.
Mr Pattinson, general manager of the new combined Hull operation, said: “This is a great opportunity for myself and the team at both the new and existing sites in Hull. With the acquisition of the site we have also secured the existing relationships with CIS, NUI and RSA Insurance companies which will enhance our position as the repairer of choice for the Hull area.
“We are intending to invest £40K in rebranding and equipping the site to ensure it meets the BSI Kitemark criteria and to ensure the seamless integration of our systems and processes”.
