20/08/2008 - Leeds branch flying high as Kitemark earned

The Leeds branch of Just Car Clinics is the latest branch in the UK’s second largest independent collision repair chain to acquire the BSI Kitemark. Leeds follows JCC’s site in Hull in reaching the standard, which is the worldwide recognised symbol of trust, integrity and quality and was developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) in association with industry stakeholders. JCC is aiming to achieve Kitemark PAS 125:2007 at all 21 of its sites by the end of the year.Andrew Firbank, general manager of JCC’s Leeds branch, said: “I am delighted that we have achieved this standard, which will reassure customers that we have satisfied the most rigorous quality processes. People will see the Kitemark and know instantly that we can be trusted to carry out vehicle body repairs and that our quality and safety is beyond question. The Kitemark is one of the most recognisable symbols in the world and everyone at the Leeds branch is feeling proud that we can display it.”Barry Whittles, JCC’s chief executive, added: “This is part of a programme to achieve the Kitemark across all of our branches. Obtaining the standard is hard work but the JCC team already works to a high level in order to satisfy the standards and high quality of work required by our customers. We are leading the way in complying with insurance company requirements and giving customers real confidence in our ability.”To date, only around 250 vehicle body repair shops across the country have achieved the new standard.

As part of the Kitemark standard, regular, unannounced BSI audits will ensure that the standards of JCC’s people, repair methods, equipment, materials, quality control checks, processes management and internal audits are maintained.
