Just Car Clinics’ (JCC) major effort to build and uphold relationships with brokers is paying dividends. The company appointed its first broker and fleet relationships co-ordinator four months ago. Since then, Samantha Hall has built a network of broker contacts that is allowing all parties – brokers, clients, JCC and, ultimately, those that need swift vehicle repairs – to reap the benefits. Barry Whittles, JCC’s chief executive said: “In recent years the insurance market has been dominated by direct sellers, which has driven the body shop industry to sometimes neglect the importance of the broker community. We knew that we needed to address this situation and embarked on a process that would enable us to work closely with brokers and their clients.” Samantha, previously manager of the DBH Service to Business Centre in Melton, East Yorkshire, is now charged with forging these relationships between JCC’s 20 repair centres and brokers. She said: “Previously a lot of our sites didn’t maintain a relationship with brokers effectively, if at all. My role is to establish contact with brokers, and, going forward, to continually work together with them, to ensure that they are happy and enjoy a good relationship with us.  “Brokers have a lot of choice in terms of which repairers they use and we are aware of the importance of providing a personal level of service. I provide an immediate point of contact, they know who I am. “The bottom line is that the work that we carry out for clients must make them happy and we must get vehicles back on the road in the most efficient way possible. Brokers need to know that they can trust us to satisfy their clients’ needs but, once it is built, that trust and confidence definitely benefits everyone involved in collision repairs.  “The role is a unique in the industry and I feel that I am adding something that didn’t previously exist. Looking ahead I believe that JCC will need a larger team of broker and fleet relationships co-ordinators.”
