03/10/2007 - Young Grimsby panel technician’s triple success
A young panel technician at the Grimsby branch of leading body repair company Just Car Clinics (JCC) has lined up in the finals of a prestigious competition for the third time running. Daniel Cain battled it out against tough competition for the Young Panel Technician of the Year award at the Bodyshop Thatcham Craft Awards last month for the third year in succession. Daniel, who finished the night a worthy runner up, had to go through rigorous practical tasks and an online test of his expertise that was judged by a panel of industry experts. Daniel, who has worked at the Grimsby branch for four years, picked up his runner-up prize at a champagne gala awards dinner held at the Hilton Metropole hotel, Birmingham on September 21. Barry Whittles, JCC’s chief executive, said: “Daniel’s hat trick of success is a credit to his hard work and excellent approach to the job. The assessment and judging of this award is very rigorous and Daniel had to work under immense pressure against some strong competition. He has proved that he has a high level of skill and being nominated for the award recognises that.”
