Just Car Clinics statement on the sad news regarding Dixon Motors Issued: July 07 In light of the current problems faced by Dixon Motors, Just Car Clinics would like to make it clear to all customers and suppliers that they are in no way affected as they are a completely independent company, and have been for almost five years. A number of enquiries about this have been made over the last few days and Just Car Clinics are keen to put any customer concerns to rest. Just Car Clinics was formed in 2003 after current chief executive Barry Whittles agreed a £5million management-buyout of the former Dixon Car Clinics chain in 2003. The company is now the second largest independent chain of collision repair centres in the UK, with a £28m turnover and is currently experiencing a great period of growth, employing over 500 people across its 19 sites, with more to come in the near future. Prior to the management-buyout in 2003, Mr Whittles was Operations director of Dixon Motors Car Clinic division for twelve years after taking up the position in 1991. When asked about Dixon Motors going into administration Mr Whittles was keen to reiterate Just Car Clinic’s independence. He said: “What has happened at Dixon Motors is very sad and we would like to wish everyone there all the best, but I would like to stress that JCC is in no way connected to them. Since the MBO we have performed extremely well and are working on growing the business in new strategic locations, we have recently opened our 19th branch in Hinckley and the plan is to grow the group to 40 sites by the end of 2010.”
